Come visit us Wednesday through Friday of school vacation week! Explore the galleries and create art together in the Bank of America Art Lab with art-making activities for visitors of all ages, children and adults, to enjoy together. Schedule of activities below.
Art Making
Our art making investigations are developed for all ages of children and adults to work together. All activities are drop-in, first come, first served, and space is limited.
Threads of Connection: Quilt Squares, 11 AM–4 PM
Bank of America Art Lab, 1st Floor
Create a unique quilt square that represents your identity, take it home or donate it to the museum to be added to the growing community tapestry on view in the Art Lab. Working with textiles, experiment with composition through cutting, layering, and sewing. Threads of Connection was developed by local fiber artist Merill Comeau in collaboration with ICA educators and inspired by current exhibitions and works on view.
Meet the artist: Merill Comeau
On Thu, Feb 20, work alongside the current Art Lab resident artist, Merill Comeau. Learn about her art on view in the Art Lab, and participate in her community tapestry project.
In the Galleries
Explore new exhibitions in the galleries, Tschabalala Self: Out of Body and Carolina Caycedo: Cosmotarrayas. ICA galleries are open from 10 AM–5 PM, and our friendly Visitor Assistants are always eager to talk about the artworks and answer your questions!
Important visitor information
Because space at the ICA is limited, we respectfully request that visitors travel light. For your convenience, we recommend storing any luggage at South Station.
Note: Timed tickets are required to see Yayoi Kusama: LOVE IS CALLING and are SOLD OUT for the month of February. Tickets for March visits are now available for purchase.
