School and Youth Programs Manager, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
Sara Egan is a museum educator whose work is grounded in constructivism and the use of discussions about works of art to affirm all voices. In her current role as the School and Youth Programs Manager at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Sara manages Thinking Through Art, a graduate-level program for Boston Public School teachers who learn to integrate the arts and student-centered teaching into their practice, as well as the Teens Behind the Scenes program that develops the personal and professional skills of Boston youth. Sara frequently presents her work at regional and national conferences, and is a cofounder and editor of Viewfinder, the NAEA Museum Education Division’s online publication. Sara holds a BA from Vassar College and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is an adjunct professor of art at Simmons College.
