Teen Convenings are the only events of their kind to place the youth voice at the center of the shaping and development of teen arts education. The National Teen Convenings bring together teens and educators from museums and arts organizations across the country to collaboratively discuss the issues, possibilities, and potential of teens in museums. Using a teen-driven format since its inception in 2009, the National Teen Convenings also provide much-needed professional development, training, and a specialized professional community for participating organizations and staff.

Since 2014–2015, organizations have also often hosted Regional Convenings in their own communities, further expanding the national impact of tis dialogue.

The ICA has partnered with more than 35 organizations on Teen Convenings.
