The Teen Exhibitions Program (TEP) Alumni Assistant supports the ICA’s efforts to create a space for young people to reimagine and shape how teens engage with contemporary art and the ICA. The TEP Alumni Assistant assists Teen Programs staff with TEP program facilitation and development, as well as in providing participating teens with direct individualized support. They support other creative youth development programs as needed. This is a part-time, hourly position that begins mid-March 2023 and ends June 30, 2023. Exact dates to be determined. The time commitment is 10-12 hours a week.

Please note:

  • All ICA employees are required to reside in Massachusetts and within a reasonable commuting distance from our Seaport location as of their first day of work.
  • All ICA employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by their first day of work.
  • The ICA offers the flexibility of a hybrid work week, which averages three to four days a week onsite for employees who are eligible to work remotely (subject to change, and at managers discretion).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and facilitation of Teen Exhibitions Program
  • Assist with development of TEP projects, events, and initiatives
  • Support TEP members during meetings, projects, events, and off-site field trips
  • Engage TEP with ICA exhibitions and performances, as well as other contemporary art and artists
  • Encourage TEP to interact with other ICA teen programs
  • Foster community and connections between TEP and ICA staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion on of the ICA’s teen programs, member in good standing
  • Post high school course work in related area a plus
  • Interest in pursuing a professional path in museum/arts education
  • Organizational and administrative skills
  • Must successfully pass a CORI background check
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evening and weekend shifts

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary working on a computer, standing, and/or moving about the office
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Ability to move about in the office to access files, printers, etc.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information with departments and with diverse and multigenerational audiences
